Seven squares down, eighteen to go. Project #3 is going well, except for the Loopy Stitch square. As you know, this stitch is testing my patience. Not to mention, it is 3 times thicker than the other squares. I need to take a break before starting the second loopy stitch square. I decided instead of knitting a different patterned square, I would just start a new project. And get this, I AM NOT USING THE YARN IN THE PATTERN!!!!!! I am actually choosing yarn from my stash. This is unheard of for me. ANYWAY...... Project #3 is temporarily Zzzzzzz. I need to get my next color of yarn for the second loopy stitch square and then I will tackle it.
PROJECT #4 ~ A New Sock Monkey, page 70 in the "itty bitty toys" book, by Susan B. Anderson.
I am still shocked that I am using a different yarn than Susan used. Not only is it not the same brand, it isn't striped! This may drive me nuts, but I need to learn to get a little CRAZY! Changing the color of a project's yarn, that is as crazy as I can handle.

You are too funny. I don't think I have EVER used the yarn that WAS called for in a project. (And that is really only because I can never afford it.) And even if I did use the yarn called for I would more than likely change the color-- something I always do too. Hmmm . . . Are we diametrically opposed knitters?
Oh! Did you check out Sylvia's "Bumblebee?" Totally not related but I forgot to mention it to you earlier. It is too cute. Check the blog.
OO OO - I know that yarn!!! I think he is going to turn out darling - can't wait to see it. I have faith in you Barb - I KNOW you can go a little crazy . . .
I've purchased some yarn to make the monkey too, and it is a different brand and colour all together as well.
Susan says that every knitter has his/her own 'voice' by choosing yarns, colours ...
And I think it is fun to make things a little differently.
You gals are the BEST! Such encouragement.
Valerie, I am headed to your blog.
Sasa, So good seeing you.
Lucy, Be sure and let us know when you finish your monkey and where we can see it.
